What is currently your favorite restaurant?
It may depend on my mood; however, Parallel 33 and Indigo Grill are among my favorites. Amiko and Debra are wonderful chefs, and Jonathan at Parallel 33 makes the dining experience complete.
What is your favorite dish from any San Diego restaurant?
Recently, I had the mac/cheese with crab meat drizzled with truffle oil at Mixx. I don’t usually like mac/cheese, but it absolutely made me a believer!
What is your favorite lunch spot?
I would have fresh sushi every day if I could, and Samurai in Solana Beach is among the most authentic and diverse of San Diego’s sushi bars.
How often do you cook at home?
About four nights a week — always on Sunday evenings as my partner and I wind down and end the weekend.
Do you prefer cooking with others or banish all human life from your kitchen?
I love to cook (alone or with friends) and learn to create new things; my partner is my sous chef and she’s an essential ingredient!
Name three things that are always in your refrigerator.
Pesto, fresh vegetables and interesting cheeses
Name three people, living or dead, you’d most like to invite for dinner.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Pat Conroy (my favorite author), and my father, who is now deceased.
