The Women’s Professional Football League held their election Aug. 22 for a new executive director and selected as its new executive director the San Diego So Cal Scorpions’ team owner, Ann Bagala.
With two candidates up for nomination, Bagala was elected to serve as the nationwide WPFL executive director, effective immediately. She replaces former executive director Dawn Berndt.
“I am extremely honored. I have a great team in So Cal and a great team of directors and executive officers within the league to assist me in seeing this league do great things in the future,” Bagala said.
“I personally thank Ms. Berndt for all she has given to see that women’s football succeeds, I am honored to be filling her shoes.”
Bagala has formerly owned and operated two successful businesses, been nominated for Small Business Owner of the Year in San Diego and has been operating the So Cal Scorpions for four years.
The WPFL office will be officially moved to San Diego, where Bagala resides, within the next few weeks.
