America’s most haunted house: Enjoy a hauntingly good tour of the Whaley House, billed as “America’s most haunted house,” complete with tales of weird and inexplicable events, all set to period music. Hunt for ghosts in the eerie light of oil lamps and learn about San Diego’s early history. The infamous Whaley House, located in Old Town, will run tours from 5:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. Rory Stitt: The Alaskan singer/songwriter will be making a stop at Twiggs Tea & Coffee at 10:00 p.m. as part of his coast-to-coast U.S. tour. Described as a combination of Stephen Sondheim, Freddie Mercury and Joni Mitchell, Stitt has a knack for captivating a crowd, which has taken him from fledgling concert pianist to the lead in the theatrical production Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Asian Americans in Hollywood: In an entertainment world full of gangstas, liquor store owners, scientists and dragon ladies, Asian-Americans are slowly making a place for themselves in Hollywood, thanks in part to the distinguished panel of speakers who will candidly share the good, the bad and the ugly of Hollywood as part of “Asian Americans in Hollywood,” a celebrity panel presented by the San Diego Asian Film Festival. Panelists include “Lost” heartthrob Daniel Dae Kim along with Grace Park, Sung Kang, Roger Fan and Dustin Nguyen. MCAS Miramar Air Show: The world’s best military and civilian pilots will soar through San Diego’s skies at the world-famous MCAS Miramar Air Show, taking place Friday through Sunday, Oct. 13-15, and featuring the Navy Blue Angels, the Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier, Air Force F-16, the Navy’s F-18 E/F Super Hornet and the Marine Corps’ newest aircraft, the MV-22 Osprey.
