Argentinean wine tasting: Let your inner Latin come out when Tango Wine Company presents a fabulous Argentinean wine tasting from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The lesbian-owned company’s experienced staff and distributors will present wines from the Mendoza wine region in Argentina along with Argentinean appetizers. Fiesta de Familia: The Old Globe will host Fiesta de Familia, a fun pre-show family party from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. for patrons attending that evening’s performance of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! or La Pastorela de la Estrella, both beginning at 7:30 p.m. Activities include a raffle giveaway with prizes, a piñata, music, delicious food and a visit from the “Grinch” and members of the La Pastorela de la Estrella cast. The Sisters’ Saturnalia party: The San Diego Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will honor the holidays with a celebration of the winter solstice, a throwback to the ancient Rome festival Saturnalia. The evening of fine food, drink specials and outrageous camaraderie will take place at Bourbon Street from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will be marked by periodic rituals and general silliness, concluding with a presentation of grants to some community organizations for which the San Diego Sisters have raised much-needed funds. “Nutcracker, Men in Tights!”: The Gay Men’s Chorus of San Diego’s “Nutcracker, Men in Tights!” holiday concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will take place in conjunction with their third annual holiday wreath silent auction, which will feature beautiful wreaths handmade by chorus members or donated by local businesses, luxury hotel stays, theater tickets, spa packages and much more. Erotic Art Gallery: The Erotic Art Gallery inside Pleasures & Treasures Adult Boutique has done it again. The works of Michael McKeon, a collection of both oils and photography, will be on display Dec. 15-Jan 15. Holiday Highballs: Babette Schwartz, San Diego’s diva of musical-comedy drag, will present “Holiday Highballs” at 9:00 p.m. at Martinis Above Fourth. Poz yoga: A yoga and meditation class for HIV-positive individuals will take place from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at The Center. The class will specifically address strengthening the immune system. Instructor Himanshu (Hari) Kapoor will preside over the class. He has been teaching yoga for 13 years in hospitals, drug and alcohol rehab facilities and in prison projects. Look for special guest performances from some of San Diego’s hottest female impersonators and Skyy vodka to fill you with holiday cheer.
