Wine & Dine: ElderHelp of San Diego will host the 10th Anniversary Wine & Dine at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Harbor Island from 6 to 9 p.m. ElderHelp of San Diego’s Wine and Dine is one of the largest food and wine events in San Diego, featuring premier regional wines from California and Baja California with food from some of San Diego’s most prominent restaurants. Silent and live auctions will be held throughout the evening. Tickets for the event are $75 in advance and $85 at the door. Indie Music Fest: San Diego Indie Music Fest is a music extravaganza that will take place in North Park from noon to midnight. There will be seven stages with more than 70 independent artists with various musical styles. This year’s musical artists include lesbian folk icon Michelle Shocked, Redcar (featuring Heather Grody of the Murmurs), double-violin virtuoso Gingger Shankar, Alicia Champion, Danielle LoPresti and the Masses, Kevin Wood and many others. A film portion will be held at the North Park Arts & Entertainment Centre, located at 3026 University Ave. The festival will take place in North Park on University Avenue between Ray and Utah streets. www.sdindiemusicfest.com.
Trolley Follies: Diversionary Theatre and the Gay Men’s Chorus of San Diego will present Trolley Follies of 2007 at Diversionary. The festivities begin with a cocktail party outside the theater at 6 p.m. The show will feature the music of Kander & Ebb and the cast of Altar Boyz. The gala cabaret will include music from their well-known hits, such as Chicago, Cabaret, Woman of the Year and more. Tickets are $125 per person. LUNAFEST: The Center’s Women’s Resource Center will host its third annual LUNAFEST at The Center with a pre-festival dessert reception beginning at 6 p.m. and film screenings beginning at 7 p.m. The women’s film festival will feature nine short films ranging from quirky animation to touching documentaries, all of which celebrate women. Tickets are $10 to attend the screenings and $15 for both the screenings and dessert reception. Tickets will be sold at the door, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund, as well as The Center’s Women’s Resource Center.

The Four of Us: The Old Globe Theatre will present The Four of Us with a matinee show at 2 p.m. and an evening show at 7 p.m. The play by award-winning playwright Itamar Moses is the story of two young writers, Benjamin, a novelist, and David, a playwright. When Benjamin’s first novel vaults him into literary stardom, the two men face new challenges as they look at how jealousy and success can poison a great friendship. Ballroom and Latin dance class: An alternative to the already existing club and country and western scene, this sports and social club meets at Shooterz bar in North Park. For those less experienced, a practicing party is held at 7 p.m. and regular classes begin at 8:15 p.m. The group focuses primarily on international ballroom and Latin dancing, and participants are welcome to come alone or with a dance partner. The cost for the class is $5 for club members and $8 for non-members. Half of all proceeds benefit the Hillcrest Youth Center. The Wet Spots: The Diversionary Theatre will present a one-night engagement of The Wet Spots at 7:30 p.m. The group, a musical sex comedy duo, pairs sophisticated lyrics with sweet, catchy melodies. The musical repertoire is inspired by the risqué satirical songs of Monty Python, South Park, Tenacious D and musical comedy legend Rusty Warren. The Wet Spots are known for their lively shows, which include sing-a-longs, spankings and bawdy sex-ed. Tickets are $16 for general admission and $12 for Diversionary subscribers and donors. Altar Boyz: Broadway San Diego will present Altar Boyz at the Civic Theatre starting at 7 p.m. The award-winning musical spoof is about a fictitious Christian boy-band on the last night of its national “Raise the Praise” tour. As the band performs its signature hits featuring lyrics like “Girl, you make me wanna wait” and “Jesus called me on my cell phone,” soul-wrenching secrets come tumbling out with hilarious results. The Boyz begin to question their faith in each other, and learn if fate is really holding them together or if it’s just their extra-firm hair gel. Tickets are $19-$55 and available at the box office. Movies and men: The Gay Men’s Health Program at Family Health Centers of San Diego will be hosting a trip to watch the newly released movie, Zodiac, at Mission Valley 20 at 8 p.m. Those interested in attending can meet at 2828 University Ave., Suite 104, at 7 p.m. The group will then leave for Mission Valley 20 at 7:30 p.m. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Mission Valley 20 is located at 1640 Camino Del Rio N. Dee Ray: Catch Dee Ray, fronted by local chanteuse Denise Ford, at The Brass Rail starting at 11 p.m. Ford sounds eerily reminiscent of The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde.
