Originally from Washington, D.C., Brian Lacklen fell in love with San Diego on his first visit. At that time in the mid 1990s, Brian was working in the telecommunication industry when he was sent to San Diego on business. Although he had to return to D.C., he continued to yearn for San Diego’s beaches and recreation, hoping to someday call San Diego home.
Brian was still living in D.C. on 9/11 when four planes were hijacked by terrorists, including one that was flown into the nearby Pentagon. The 9/11 attacks made him realize that life is too short not to follow our dreams. When the company he worked for was bought by a major competitor and he was offered a severance package, Brian took the opportunity to relocate to San Diego.
After moving, he continued to work in the telecommunications field but found that the travel requirements of the job kept taking him away from his new home in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood.
When his friend Ken Pecus co-founded Ascent Real Estate, he became a realtor and joined the company. As a realtor, he combines his passion for real estate and his sales background to help his clients understand the long-term benefits of owning real estate in San Diego and Southern California.
When he’s not working, Brian can often be found at the beach, surfing and relaxing through yoga. He also stays active in the community and is involved with the Human Rights Campaign Fund and Environment California, a citizen-based environmental advocacy group dedicated to protecting California’s air, water and open spaces.
