Annual Poz Seminar Day: “Being Positive About Being Positive” is the theme for the Poz Seminar Day 2007, hosted by the Positive Action Program at The Center from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The free educational event is for anyone who wants to learn more about HIV/AIDS. Workshops will be in English and Spanish and cover numerous topics. The keynote address, featuring Dr. Susan Little and Dr. Richard Haubrich of UCSD’s Antiviral Research Center speaking on the latest in HIV/AIDS research, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Light snacks will be available throughout the day and a full dinner will be provided at 6 p.m. The Center is located at 3909 Centre St. 619-692-2077, www.thecentersd.org.

Grill ’n’ Chill: The Gay Men’s Health Program will host “Grill ’n’ Chill” in Balboa Park, near the corner of Quince Drive and Sixth Avenue, at noon. The free men’s barbecue offers burgers, hotdogs, carne asada and vegetarian food, along with fun games and prizes for everyone who attends. Ray at Night: Ray Street galleries in North Park will welcome artists and art lovers for the Ray at Night art walk from 6-9 p.m. Artist Rod Ingel will be hosting an opening reception at Sharp Gallery at this month’s event. Inspired by European modern master, Joze Ciuha, Ingel has evolved as an artist and in his new paintings combines his cubist past and his contemporary vision of today. Several other Ray Street galleries will display the works of various painters, photographers, sketchers and sculptors, allowing visitors to lead a self-guided tour of the one-block stretch southeast of 30th Street and University Avenue. 619-297-9663, www.rayatnight.com.

Thread Fashion and Lifestyle Show: A showcase of emerging fashion designers and the music and art that rock their world, takes place at The Aerospace Museum from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. San Diego’s independent fashion shopping event will host 80 designers, four runway shows, an art gallery and much more. Pleasures & Treasures art reception: Pleasures & Treasures Adult Boutique will host a reception with Suzy Koenigs from 3-5 p.m. Koenig’s work includes erotic photography, and will be showcased in the Pleasures & Treasures Art Gallery the entire month of April. Five-Minute Man: Momentum, from the Gay Men’s Health Program at Family Health Centers of San Diego, will host Five-Minute Man at 7 p.m. at the Joyce Beers Community Center. Ballroom and Latin dance class: This sports and social club meets at Shooterz bar in North Park. A practicing party is held at 7 p.m. and regular classes begin at 8:15 p.m. The group focuses primarily on international ballroom and Latin dancing, and participants are welcome to come alone or with a dance partner. The Scottish Rite Center will host a special presentation with Cheryl Houk, author of the new book What Are You Thinking, from 6-7:30 p.m. The presentation will teach participants the tools to shift the way they think to feel better about themselves.
