Anthony Bollotta moved to San Diego from Miami in 1991. He says that one of the things that attracted him to the area was the wonderful gay community.

“While Miami was essentially devoid of community, San Diego has one of the strongest and friendliest gay communities in the country,” Bollotta said.

After a brief stint with a Carlsbad-based production company, Bollotta started Bollotta Entertainment, which is a full-service entertainment booking and production company. The company specializes in celebrity, music and theme entertainment productions for private events, conventions and corporate meetings for companies such as Qualcomm and Petco. The company has been a success, winning numerous awards, including Event Solutions Magazine’s Creative Director of the Year Award in 2003. From concept to realization, Bollotta Entertainment offers the creative services its clients need to make an event a success. Conceptualization, scripting, original music, stage direction and production acquisition and management, are but a few of the services offered.

Bollotta Entertainment has produced private concerts featuring such celebrities as Natalie Cole, the Beach Boys, Michael McDonald, Huey Lewis, Jay Leno and the Goo Goo Dolls.

When work isn’t keeping him busy, Bollotta spends most of his time with his family, friends, cats and his little brother from Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County. He is also an active member of the community, and has been instrumental in creating shows for past Center galas, the Human Dignity Foundation, the Victory Fund and state Senator Christine Kehoe.
