Bunbury: Diversionary Theatre will present a special opening-night performance of Bunbury, with a wine-and-cheese pre-show party at 7 p.m. to benefit The Center. The performance of Tom Jacobson’s “serious play for trivial people” begins at 8 p.m.
Bunbury is the story of an offstage character that comes to life and changes the endings of several classic plays, proving that everyone’s life means something – even if they don’t exist. Tickets for the benefit performance cost $20 and are limited. Fifty percent of all tickets purchased will benefit programs and services at The Center.

ANOMAS: ANOMAS, A Night of Movement and Sound, a live jazz event presented by Project Umoja, will take place at the Arts and Entertainment Center in North Park, starting at 8 p.m. This fund-raising event takes place the third Saturday of every month and features many of today’s up-and-coming, local jazz players. Project Umoja City of Villiages gives workshops and seminars on a variety of gay and gay-friendly topics, including self-awareness, marriage, and HIV and AIDS. Suggested donation at the door is $10. Festivale Siciliano: As part of the Sicilian Festival, the streets of Little Italy will be filled with the music, dance and cuisine of Sicily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The entire community is invited to come and enjoy authentic Sicilian cuisine, dance in the streets to traditional Sicilian and Italian music, sip Italian beer and wine in the Birra & Vino Garden, and stroll through the colorful rows of vendor booths. Children and adults alike will have the opportunity to enjoy several rides or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of Italy with San Diego in the background. North Park Festival of the Arts:
The annual North Park Festival of the Arts will take place in North Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This free neighborhood event is an explosion of arts, culture and entertainment, with an interactive community of local artists who will display and sell their work, and compete for awards. In addition to juried artwork, the festival will feature food, music, shopping and entertainment from around the world. Proceeds from the day-long event will benefit North Park Main Street, a non-profit organization committed to the revitalization of the North Park Business Improvement District. Acupuncturists Without Borders: Joy Acupuncture will sponsor the Community Acupuncture Fundraiser and Silent Auction to benefit Acupuncturists Without Borders Returning Veterans Program from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Bamboo Lounge. For a suggested donation of $15, anyone interested will be able to experience acupuncture. Donations will help to support returning troops from Iraq by raising funds to finance a national program that will offer free community acupuncture treatments to Iraq/Afghanistan veterans to reduce the physical and mental effects of service-related stress.
