50 and Better Club rodeo mixer: Put on your hat and boots and join The Center’s 50 and Better Club for a barbecue and line-dancing mixer from 1-3 p.m. at The Center. Participants will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with each other and meet Robert Kingham, president of the Golden State Gay Rodeo. Cause They Were Here: 20 Years of Harmony: The San Diego Women’s Chorus perform the first concert of its 20th Anniversary Season called “Cause They Were Here: 20 Years of Harmony,” at the First Unitarian Universalist Church at 6:30 p.m.
The concert will feature a retrospective of women’s music, including songs written and made famous by Carole King, Indigo Girls, Holly Near, Margie Adam, Joan Baez, the Dixie Chicks and more. This event will also include a live and silent auction, and an opportunity drawing that will kick off the evening’s festivities. Tickets are $15, with discounts available for seniors, students and military. Tickets can also be purchased by visiting the SDWC Web site. The Kensington Concert Series: The Kensington Concert Series will present the men’s jazz and pop singing ensemble, the Cosmos, in a backyard-concert setting at 5 p.m. Formed in January 2004, the Cosmos have performed their rich, sassy and colorful sound to audiences all over San Diego. Their repertoire is full of familiar songs you won’t hear on most programs. Under the direction of artistic director Bob Wuertz, the group has been described as powerfully emotional, entertaining and just plain fun. Because the concert will take place at a private residence, the concert location will be disclosed when tickets are purchased. Indigo Girls: Humphrey’s Concerts by the Bay will present the Indigo Girls live in concert, with special guest Brandi Carlile at 7:30 p.m. Dinner show packages are available and include dinner Humphrey’s Restaurant and up-front seating. Premium packages are available and include two premium-seat concert tickets, two dinners at Humphrey’s Restaurant and a suite at Humphrey’s Half Moon Inn & Suites. Regular ticket prices are $40. Lexus Dinner Show Packages are $59 plus the price of the concert ticket. Premium packages vary for each show, and information can be obtained by calling the box office. Humphrey’s Concerts by the Bay take place at 2241 Shelter Island Drive.

Log Cabin Republicans social: The Log Cabin Republicans of San Diego will hold its monthly social mixer at Bourbon Street from 6:30-8 p.m. The free event is open to anyone interested in meeting other GLBT Republicans. Those who want to learn more about the group are invited to attend. The social mixer takes place the first Tuesday of every month. Guys, Games and Grub: The Center’s Men’s Advisory Committee will host a game night at The Center at 6:30 p.m. Men of all ages in the community are invited to hang out, play board games and listen to music, while enjoying dinner and drinks in the company of other guys outside the bar setting. There will be an assortment of games to play, but those who attend are invited to bring their favorite games to share. Bunbury: Diversionary Theatre will present a performance of Bunbury, Tom Jacobson’s “serious play for trivial people” at 7:30 p.m. In Bunbury, an Oscar Wilde offstage character from The Importance of Being Earnest comes to life and inadvertently changes the ending of several classic plays, proving that everyone’s life means something – even if they don’t exist.
