Description: Four dark-chocolate covered bars of frozen strawberry purée and non-fat milk solids on Popsicle sticks.
Preparation summary: Keep frozen. Ready to eat.
High points: Bright fruity flavor with detectable pieces of strawberries inside.
Low points: The thin, dark chocolate coating is tasteless compared to the strawberry purée, and it spikes the calorie count to 180 per bar.

Product: Bumble Bee Fancy White Crabmeat
Description: Six-ounce can of crabmeat packed in water and preservatives to maintain flavor and color.
Preparation summary: Drain and serve.
High points: None, except for the fact that a factory has shelled and minced the crabmeat faster than you ever can.
Low points: Crabmeat is severely waterlogged, losing completely its sweet, oceanic flavor and solid texture. The imitation stuff in vacuum-sealed bags tastes a heck of a lot better in comparison.

Product: Portabella Marsala Pasta by Healthy Choice All Natural Entrees
Description: Frozen medley of nine-grain ribbon pasta and baby portabella mushrooms in marsala wine sauce and extra virgin olive oil, topped with fontina cheese.
Preparation summary: Microwave on high for 3 1/2 to 5 minutes.
High points: One of those rare entrées in the Healthy Choice line that is packed with gourmet flavor. The mushrooms are earthy and plentiful; the sauce light and peppery and the pasta firm and fresh tasting. And yes, traces of real olive oil seem to emerge.
Low points: In Healthy Choice’s effort to deprive our bodies of saturated fat, the fontina cheese topping is scant and rather tasteless.

Description: Pre-cooked kidney beans and lentils in a creamy sauce of onions, tomatoes and ginger, packaged in a heavy foil pouch.
Preparation summary: Empty contents into a bowl, cover and heat in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes.
High points: Delightfully spicy and packed with enough meaty legumes to satisfy stubborn carnivores. Unsealed product can be stored at room temperature for up to a year.
