Bar Fly

I am pretty selective about which events, clubs, and parties I attend, but there is a three-day party coming to San Diego this weekend, and I certainly won’t miss it! The producers of the popular Military Madness Night, Nick De Simas and Steve Peña, present The Crucible, which promises “three days, six events, one unforgettable weekend.” With the line-up Peña and De Simas have planned, I have no doubt that this weekend will be incredible.
De Simas said the event is special because it is “the only event of its kind … [that] supports those who are gay serving in or who have served in the military.” A portion of the weekend’s proceeds will be donated to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a national, non-profit legal services, watchdog and policy organization dedicated to ending discrimination against and harassment of military personnel affected by “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and related forms of intolerance. “It’s a great way for people to have a great time and get to really help out a great cause at the same time,” said De Simas.
So what’s on the agenda for the weekend? The fun begins with “The Brig” tomorrow, Oct. 19, at Rich’s. World-renowned New York City-based DJ Joe Gauthreaux will spin, and there will be a live performance by Billboard Recording Artist AMUKA. Pornstar Brent Corrigan is also scheduled to appear. And of course – my favorite part – there will be go-go-boys. Military go-go boys. And lots of them.
But Friday’s party doesn’t stop when Rich’s shuts its doors around 2 a.m. The fun continues at Bacchus House for the “Prison Break Party.” And if you’ve been reading Bar Fly, you know my favorite kind of party is a foam party. Well “Prison Break” is a foam party! Guests are encouraged to “dress light or wear close to nothing at all” for this all-night event headlined by DJ De Leon. Note: I said wear “close” to nothing at all – leave something to the imagination, boys! The party will rage until 10 a.m. – just enough time for you to take a one-hour nap and get ready for the next event!

The party continues on Saturday afternoon with “Marine Corp Showers.” From noon to 6 p.m., those who have purchased a ticket, will be welcomed to a luxurious private estate for an afternoon of fun and special surprises. Shane Stiel will headline. After this private party, go home and take a serious nap, because the main event will keep you rocking all the way into Sunday morning!
Military Madness will celebrate its one-year anniversary on Saturday night at Club Montage. DJ Tony Moran is the headliner, and Billboard Recording Artist Danielle Bolinger will also perform live. Also, dance artist FLAVA will give a special performance, and porn star Brent Everett will make an appearance. Of course, there will be more go-go boys and dancing all night long. Military Madness will run from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

It doesn’t end there. “The Crucible” continues with its Sunday events, including the “Hazing Party T-Dance.” The “Hazing” event will take guests back to a beautiful private estate from noon to 6 p.m. as DJ Taj headlines. This will be a fun and relaxing afternoon to recover from all of the foam, go-go boys, and porn stars that you may have encountered over the weekend.
Finally, the weekend closes out with a Sunday night private “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” party at a penthouse. This event is open only to those who purchase a VIP Weekend Pass. I hear this is going to be a party not to miss, so I highly encourage you to shell out a few extra dollars for this party. Buying a VIP pass not only gets you into the closing night party, but you get express entrance to the five other events (no waiting in line), private VIP areas and restrooms at Montage and Rich, a complimentary “The Event” CD, mixed by Tony Moran, complimentary water and fruit buffet, free packet of Boom Energy Herbal Aphrodisiac, and access to all meet and greets with performers and porn stars. All this for only $80.

De Simas hopes that his guests “will say they had a blast and can’t wait until next year’s event.” So let’s make sure that quality entertainment continues to hit the San Diego scene by supporting this year’s event. More information about “The Crucible” is available online at www.militarymadnessnight.com, and tickets can be purchased at www.circuitticket.com. The Bacchus House and private estate events are $10, Richs is $15, and Club Montage is $20. A weekend pass, which includes express entrance and admission to all five events, is available for $55.
