The DJ, lights, drinks, and go-go boys: all components of any good gay night club. Go-go dancers come and go, some are hot, some are not. Some of them are outstanding dancers; others are stiffer than my arthritic grandmother. All in all, though, I’ve never been too impressed by many of the dancers – they are usually just hot bodies in underwear and combat boots. That all changed Friday night when I stopped by Bacchus House.
Every Friday night, the producers of the popular Club Papi bring ¡Pan Dulce! San Diego to Bacchus House. The hot night delivers “sex, boyz, musica, and strong drinks” to the loyal crowd that has made it a success week after week during the last several months. There are two “caliente” rooms of music with DJs Carlitos and Rubin in the main room, and DJs 4Play and Ben in the hip-hop room. There are great drink specials and a complimentary taco bar from Baja Betty’s. But let’s get back to the main point of this week’s column: the go-go boys. ¡Pan Dulce! doesn’t lie when it advertises the hottest and sexiest dancers around. The dancers are fine, fine, fine!
I’m not normally the type of person who will tip dancers, or even pay much attention to them. I don’t find anything wrong with them, I just typically like to go out and dance and socialize with friends. I have always just thought of go-go dancers as background entertainment. But this past Friday at ¡Pan Dulce! I couldn’t take my eyes off the rotating set of boys who graced the top of the pool table turned go-go box in the hip-hop room. I felt like a creepy old troll, but these boys were just so beautiful! My favorite part about the dancers is their butts – they love to show them! Unfortunately, those pesky laws ban frontal nudity (but I guess leaving a little to the imagination is a good thing), so dancers will frequently pull down their underpants and show off their backsides. Many of them are quite good at laying down and twisting their legs over their heads, while exposing their bare butts – quite a sight! One of the dancers was also quite talented at accepting dollar bills in his butt-crack. I’ll let you visit ¡Pan Dulce! next Friday to see for yourself.
The Papi dancers certainly brightened up my night, and kept me there much longer than I had planned. Besides the Papi dancers, ¡Pan Dulce! is a very high-energy night at Bacchus House, and you are sure to have a great time. A special edition of ¡Pan Dulce! will be held on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31. DJs Carlitos and 4Play will spin and there will be drink specials and free champagne. The first 400 people through the door will get a free Latinboyz.com anniversary DVD and there will be a $1,000 cash balloon drop at midnight. Bacchus House is located at 3054 University Ave. in North Park. Check out www.clubpapi.com for more information about ¡Pan Dulce! or Club Papi. And speaking of Latin nights, there are a few others around town. One of my favorites is the long-running “Noche Latino Americano” at the beautiful Brass Rail Nightclub and Lounge. Every Saturday, the Brass Rail presents “San Diego’s hottest Latin night” as DJ Ruben Casas and DJ Klaus keep the dance floor pumping with a mix of Latin, hip-hop, and dance music. Noche Latino Americano is always packed at the Brass Rail, as it has been for years. The Brass Rail’s Latin night is the longest running in San Diego, and one of the best. The Brass Rail was completely remodeled and “re-invented” last January, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, you are missing out on one of the most attractive lounges in town! The Brass Rail is located at 3796 Fifth Ave. in Hillcrest. Check out www.brassrailsd.com for more information.
¡Pan Dulce! isn’t the only Latin night at Bacchus House. In fact, Bacchus House has three Latin nights a week and they are all hot! Every Wednesday is Musica y Pasion Latina with Francheska’s drag show at 9:30 p.m. and DJ Ruben Casas at 11 p.m. Sundays are Fiesta Domingo with the Latina Happy Hour at 5 p.m., a 9:30 p.m. show hosted by Alexandra, and DJ Ruben Casas at 11 p.m. These are both hot nights and worth checking out!
So next time you are in the mood for a hot piece of eye-candy ass, just head on over to Bacchus House on a Friday night to check out the Papi Dancers – you won’t be disappointed. Just look for me – I’ll be the one with my eyes fixated on the boys dancing on top of the pool table!
