What to Bring, What to Wear
Print your donation report at www.AIDSWalkSD.org and bring it and all pre-paid donations with you on the morning of the event. Run, Walk and Extra Mile Club Registration Tents will open at 6am. The 5K walk course will take most people an hour and a half to complete.
Upon arriving at Balboa Park, all participants (members of teams included) will check-in at the Run, Walk or Extra Mile Club Registration Tents to turn in any outstanding money and receive their AIDS Walk T-shirt.
Participants turning in $500 or more at registration will also receive their fundraising awards at the Run/Walk Registration Tents.
The Run and Walk Registration Tents will be open from 6-8am, and the Extra Mile Club Tent (for those raising $1,000 or more) will be open from 6-11am.
AIDS Walk will happen rain or shine. Dress in layers as Walk mornings tend to be cool and warm up quickly. Wear sturdy, reliable shoes; flip flops and sandals are not recommended. Apply and reapply sunscreen often.
It’s important to stay hydrated, and Sparkletts Water stations are provided along the route. There will be a light snack, consisting of water and fruit. Please eat breakfast and bring any additional food you may need.
Earn Fundraising Awards
All $35 registrants ($25 for youth and seniors) will receive the official AIDS Walk T-shirt on the morning of the event. Additionally, great awards will be offered to those who turn in the following amounts of money by Sun., Sept. 26.
$500 or more — Official AIDS Walk ball cap, official AIDS Walk T-shirt

These great incentives are available as awards only and will not be sold.

Funding Recipients Tent
Visit the Funding Recipients tent on AIDS Walk Sunday and learn more about the outstanding HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs made possible thanks to your efforts at last year’s AIDS Walk & Run.
We encourage you to find an agency that resonates with you and commit to learning how you can help by volunteering and/or making a financial contribution to the organization in the coming year.
Memorial Garden, Path of Remembrance and Altar
One of the most touching parts of AIDS Walk includes the Memorial Garden, where participants will be able to view panels of the AIDS Quilt and other remembrances. Honor the memory of those lost to the pandemic by bringing pictures and memories to add to the altar and path.
