Name: Alexander B. Williams
Age: 21
Self Definition: Transgender, FTM (female to male) to be more exact
Where were you at 9 a.m. last Sunday morning?
At work helping out with the Puppy Kindergarten class and drinking coffee
What person has influenced you more than any other, and how?
I met a handful of really cool FTMs that showed me that a successful transition was not only possible but also not as out of my reach as I thought it was.
When don’t you feel equal?
When people tell me that they think I’m too young to have started hormone therapy. They tell me not to alter my body too much just in case I change my mind in a few years but they can’t see how much better I feel since I’ve started testosterone.
Where were you last Wednesday at noon?
At work, filling blueberry facial orders
When was the last time you felt proud? Little things happen every-day, but the last major event was when I changed my name. My mom went with me to the courthouse, and it really meant a lot to me to have her there.
If there was a defining moment in your life, what was it?
In high school I read the definition of transsexual to another classmate during a GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) meeting, and immediately it clicked in my head. I was terrified.
Where were you at 10 p.m. last Friday night? Hanging out at home with my girlfriend watching “Family Guy”
What is your most immediate goal?
I need a new tire for my car.
When do you feel total joy?
On my skateboard, cruising down the street is always the perfect remedy to any tough situation. I find any excuse I can to hop on my board, even if it’s only for a few feet.
